What is the service like?
Singing:
At Gospel Baptist we keep our praise through song simple. We sing hymns together as a church to show our love and devotion to our Savior.
Teaching:
We believe Scripture is the foundation of our beliefs, as such, our pastors handle it with care and respect. Each week they walk through a passage of Scripture, teaching God’s word to His people. If you do not own a Bible, we have them available for you to use during the service, and take with you when you go home.
Prayer:
We have the privilege of being able to approach our Savior through prayer. At Gospel Baptist, you will find prayer interspersed throughout our service. If you are in need of prayer, one of our pastors would be glad to pray with you after the service.
Giving:
If you are a guest, please do not feel obligated to give financially. If you feel led to do so, you will find giving envelopes in each seatback, and an offering plate near the door, below the bulletin board.
Should I come to Sunday school?
As a guest you are welcome to attend Sunday school, or just come for the worship service. Before each service the church meets as our pastors teach from our current curriculum. It’s very relaxed, with lots of conversation about Scripture and what we are currently learning.
What should you wear?
Our focus is on praising God and learning more about Him, not on what you are wearing. Feel free to come in whatever you feel comfortable wearing. You will find people in everything from jeans, T-shirts, and tattoos, to dresses and dress slacks.
What about kids?
At Gospel Baptist, we are family-friendly. You can keep your small children with you in the service, or leave them in the nursery. You are welcome to do whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
What if I haven’t been to church in a long time, or ever?
We want you to feel comfortable to come as you are. We are all broken in some way; you don’t need to hide your brokenness at Gospel Baptist. Come to learn about God and find out His purpose for you.
